Comenius letter 7th grade September/October

Our dearest Comenius friends,

We’re happy to be a part of this Comenius Project and we’re pleased to share our activities with you.
In Romania school was over on the 13th of June. The holiday was nice, but it ended very quickly..
Some of us spent their holiday at their grandparents’ house or at the seaside.
On the 13th of September we had our 1st school day.
An important festival for our town is “Sărbătoarea Castanelor” (The Chestnut Feast). It took place on the 24th- 26th of September. The town was full of stores on the street. On the 25th of September we also had a National Project, “Let’s do it, Romania!”, a call for the Romanians  to clean the whole country. Hundreds of students from most of the schools in Baia Mare were organized in groups and got to their “territories” for cleaning. Our school had a large area on a hill and a valley down it, near Baia Mare. The weather was wonderful, so we enjoyed a lot this outdoor activity. At the end we were tired but proud of our work.
On the same day, out town’s soccer team won 3-0 at home and climbed to the 1st place in our league.
On the 15th and 16th October we paid a tour trip of Transylvania. We went to Arad and Deva where we visited the cities.  In Deva we met our friends from the school that has the same name with ours and visited the town together. We climbed to the Deva fortress by the cable, the single one like this in Romania. It was an exciting experience!!! We also went to a medieval castle named “Castelul Corvinilor” (The Corvins’ Castle) in Hunedoara where we met some of the “knights” of the castle.

Now, we’ve already started to work on the project but we lost our project class because of the crises. So, our English teacher has  a lot of work to do.

We are eagerly waiting to hear about you!

Best wishes,
Your 7th A grade friends (Antoaneta Boje –form master)
